About the Position: This position is with the United States Army Reserve, G-3/3, Army Reserve Watch Branch located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.
Duties
Serve as the Deputy Chief, Army Reserve Operations Center (AROC), Current Operations Division, G-33, US Army Reserve Command (USARC) Headquarters
Responsible for assisting the AROC Chief in the development and management of the Continuity of Operations Program to include prioritizing mission essential functions, conducting exercises, funding and training.
Provide direct oversight of AROC operations staff.
Coordinate activities and scheduling, determine participants, directs actions of subordinate staff, identifies requirements, track taskings, and coordinate support actions.
Plan the work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Research, develop and prepare Operations Orders, Memorandums of Agreement/Understanding, staffing papers, point papers and decision briefs for Operations from taskers received from HQ USARC, Headquarters, and Department of the Army.
Participate in assessment and preparation of AROC long range plans and strategies.
Responsible for ensuring all Civilian personnel assigned to the AROC are effectively trained to include operating systems supporting AROC operations, Army and Army Reserve policies, protocols, standard operating procedures, and security.
Provide direct oversight of the AROC execution of prescribed goals and objectives.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes expertise in the doctrine and processes of Army decision making such as the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) and Army Design Methodology (ADM), and integrating into a three-star, force-provider headquarters; leading a team that is responsible for both providing clear, concise guidance to subordinate commands during stressful situations on a 24-hour basis, receiving, analyzing, and distilling that information into a clear picture for Army senior leaders; operating in a high OPTEMPO team that must both be a cornerstone of consistency, stability, and accountability, while remaining flexible to changing requirements and leading positive change in the team; inspiring excellence, ensuring accountability and providing timely, candid feedback to subordinates, peers, and superiors, both military and Department of the Army Civilians. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
