For the Redstone Arsenal, AL Location: $127,073 to $191,900 (includes 21.48% locality)
For the Schriever AFB, CO Location: $125,242 to $191,508 (includes 19.73% locality)
For the Fort Belvoir, VA Location: $139,395-$191,900 (includes 33.26% locality)
Duties
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Acq Demo Business and Technical Management to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

This position is part of the Department of Defense (DoD), Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The incumbent will be responsible for leading a team of MDA employees that coordinate, synchronize and implement the MDA cyberspace program and provide agency cyberspace planning in support of all Research & Development (R&D) activities within the acquisition life-cycle to develop, build, and field the Missile Defense System (MDS).
This position is being filled under AcqDemo Direct Hiring Authority (DHA) for non-acquisition positions involving 51% or more of time in direct support of acquisition positions within Business and Technical Management Professional Career path.
As a IT Specialist (InfoSec) at the NH-2210-4 broadband level some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves as Chief Information Security Officer for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Responsible for leading a team of MDA employees that coordinate, synchronize and implement the MDA cyberspace program and provide agency cyberspace planning in support of all Research & Development (R&D) activities within the acquisition life-cycle to develop, build, and field the Missile Defense System (MDS).
Determines long-range cybersecurity objectives and develops strategy for achieving those objectives while staying abreast of emerging mission requirements. Periodically evaluates amends or redefines major cyberspace program objectives.
Serves as a recognized expert in developing strategies, policies, processes, procedures and programs related to cyberspace risk assessment operations in MDA's area of responsibility (AOR). Provides advice to MDA Senior Leadership on all aspects of risk assessment activities.
Serves as the MDA Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) reporting officer in the office of the MDA CIO. The FISMA Team Lead is responsible for the development, management, maintenance, implementation, and execution of the Agency's formal FISMA program for all MDA systems and networks in accordance with DoD and OMB regulations and directives.

- This is an acquisition position coded Practitioner in Engineering and Technical Management. Incumbent must obtain mandatory Back-to-Basics (BtB) certification within 60 months of entry into position.
- Employee is required to accumulate 80 continuous learning points (CLP’s) in a 2 year period
- This is a drug testing designated position
- This position may be eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
- This is an Information Assurance/Cybersecurity Position Coded Level III in the Management Category (IAM) Must have at the time of permanent appointment or achieve within 6 months of Entry on Duty (EOD) the appropriate baseline certification.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the NH-04 broadband level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
Conduct periodic assessments of the risk and magnitude of harm that could result from the unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction of information or information systems. AND
Develop, document, and implement cybersecurity policies and procedures that are based on risk assessments, reduce information security risks ensuring information security is addressed throughout the life cycle of each system. AND
Plan, implement, evaluate, and document remedial actions to address any deficiencies in information security policies, procedures, and practices.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
