About the Position: This position is located in the 35th Engineer Battalion, 1st Engineer Brigade, U.S. Army Engineer School, Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, bordering Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive east and Springfield is a 1-hour drive west of Fort Leonard Wood.

Duties

Serve as an Instructor for the 35th Engineer Battalion. Teach officer, enlisted, civilian, and foreign student personnel on a variety of Land/Mine related equipment and operations. Monitor and instruct student application during practical exercises. Develop revision of new and existing Lesson Plans, Programs of Instruction, Skill Level Qualification Tests, and other course materials Responsible for accountability of tools, training aids, and equipment ensuring proper use, care and maintenance.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R and must pass urinalysis testing as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
• Position is approved for Hazardous Duty Pay and incumbent is eligible for hazard duty pay differential when assigned to work in an area approved for hazardous duty pay.
• This position may require employee to work under adverse environmental conditions.
• This position requires the employee drive a motor vehicle; an appropriate, valid driver's license is required and must be maintained for the position.
• Incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment and may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.
