You will serve as a SECRETARY (OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the COMMAND SUITE of NAVMED TRNG SUPPORT CENTER.

Duties

You will serve as the Executive Secretary performing various administrative and clerical duties in support of the Command Officer (CO), Executive Officer (XO), and Command Master Chief (CMC) You will prepare recurring and nonrecurring correspondence, reports, and other documents from information obtained from the staff, files, and other sources You will read and process incoming correspondence and material to the Command Suite You will maintain the CO’s, XO’s, and CMC’s calendars as well as two conference room calendars. You will receive visitors and phone calls. You will establish and maintain office records that may be needed or will assist in the efficient operation of the office. You will schedule conferences/meetings/social events and travel arrangements as needed by the CO, XO, and CMC.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience receiving phone calls, greeting visitors, and responding to routine requests for information Experience prioritizing requests for information and status inquiries to ensure office goals are met Experience maintaining an office calendar, scheduling appointments, and arranging meetings for executives and superiors while avoiding conflicts Experience preparing correspondence using correct grammar, spelling, capitalization, format, and punctuation in compliance with established procedures and regulations Experience utilizing appropriate social etiquette and protocol when interacting with high-ranking officials and VIP's.
