About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 470th MI BDE, located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Duties
Executes administrative concepts, principles, and practices in order to evaluate and improve the Brigade-wide workflow and office procedures.
Advises others on a variety of issues, ensure coordination and review actions and documents received in the Command office.
Coordinates administrative information for the Commanding Officer and Command Group, and administratively respond to command-level actions and intelligence taskings in the Office of the Commander.
Carries out protocol principles and procedures sufficient to assist in supporting, with appropriate degrees of recognition, the broad range of visitors.
Devises and implements improved techniques and how and when such policies and procedures should be adapted to new situations.
Drafts personal materials and outlines for the Commander's administrative memorandums and presentations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Top Secret (SCI) level.

Specialized experience is defined as: Preparing correspondence and reports using proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar; coordinating travel arrangements; and scheduling meetings and conferences. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS/GG-08.
