This position is located at Departmental Offices,International Affairs. As a/an Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting senior economists in conducting financial analysis for area of responsibility.
Duties
As a/an Financial Analyst, you will:
Work with senior employees in developing and managing the Treasury's policies and activities for assigned responsibilities.
Review policies and programs of the IMF, World Bank Group, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and other international organizations in the region, and assist in assessment of such policies and programs for consistency with U.S. policy and the country's financial and economic circumstances.
Assist in preparing oral and written briefings for senior Treasury officials on economic and financial developments in assigned countries as events warrant.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Performing analyses in areas such as macroeconomic performance, identification of economic or financial vulnerabilities, political economy and structural reform issues, regional issues including regional economic integration, trade trends, programs of the international financial institutions, U.S. financial, or economic and development programs; AND
Collaborating with or advising senior employees on issues related to fiscal monetary policies; trade promotion; domestic and foreign debt positions; or financial or corporate restructuring issues.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
