This position is a key member of the Business Intelligence and Analytics team responsible for the development, implementation, and support of business intelligence requirements. Position is located at the Richard L. Roudebush Veterans Healthcare System in Indianapolis, IN.
Programming position, 50% of each day will involve writing Structured Query Language (SQL) and working with Stored procedures.
Duties

Major duties will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Serves as a technical expert and consultant to facility and healthcare group leaders on data management, data mining, and data representation techniques that inform the monitoring, evaluation, and improvement of programs.
Applies mastery of Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) server databases to participate in the development of health informatics tools to monitor clinical care processes, outcomes, and patient safety.
Designs, develops, and supports the technology infrastructure for the extraction, reporting interface creation, storage, and seamless presentation of clinical and administrative data.
Designs and maintains database applications, dashboards, data reporting systems, data sets, and databases that synthesize data from multiple sources into information for business analysis purposes.
Consults with facility leadership and clinical leaders to develop, design, and execute data-related projects, including evaluating provider productivity, scheduling, and staffing levels.
Uses Pyramid Analytics and Power BI tools to identify trends, problems, and provide insights.
Creates SQL Server Integration (SSIS) packages and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), develops web applications using C#, HTML, JavaScript, VB/VBA macros, and .NET, and data visualizations and work with Power Apps and Power Automate.
Develops reports and dashboards that are available to a wide audience. Complexity of reports range from excel spreadsheets to pivot tables to advanced web-based, user-driven reports with built-in filtering, sorting, and display options. Ensures comprehensive documentation regarding all data produced.
Performs other duties, as necessary.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Requires one full year of specialized experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes developing Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) within databases. (Resumes must clearly support the online questionnaire to receive credit for this Program Analyst GS-12 grade level. We will not make assumptions regarding experience.)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: work is mostly sedentary, however, requires standing, walking, bending, and long periods of sitting. Requires answering numerous telephone calls and must have adequate eyesight and hand dexterity to allow for reading and operating a computer terminal.
