You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (OPERATING SYSTEMS) in the G-6 Communications Electronics Division of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.

Duties

You will perform the planning, installation, operation and management of regionally managed domain services. You will work complex projects and tasks for implementing new technologies into the current environment while ensuring interoperability of dependent IT services. You will analyze performance and event management indicators and make configuration changed to optimize and improve functionality of IT services and information systems. You will install and manage database systems in support of hosted applications. You will create and maintain system documentation in accordance with DOD security policies and standards in support of regional managed systems and applications.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This position has been designated as a Cyber Workforce position in the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) as a condition of employment, required to maintain qualifications in accordance with DON Cyber Workforce Program requirements SECNAV M-5239-2.
• Must participate in a continuous learning (CL) program as described in SECNAVINST 5239.20A and SECNAV M-5239.2. An annual 20 hour minimum of Cyber Workforce related continuous learning must be documented in a current individual development plan.
• Must obtain the required credentials within 12 months of appointment and maintain those credentials as described in SECNAV M-52392. Failure to meet a condition of employment may result in disciplinary and/or adverse action up to removal.

Qualifications

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting analysis and developing solutions to resolve complex issues affecting IT services; installing and managing database systems; and makes configuration changes to optimize and improve functionality of IT services and information systems AND have specific level of proficiency required for each competency listed below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
