This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Telework Eligibility Statement:This position may be eligible for regular and recurring TELEWORK, including emergency and OPM prescribed unscheduled Telework. Supervisor approval will be required on a case-by-case basis.
Duties
Develop accreditation packages for systems networks, reviews and evaluates the security impact of system changes upon the networks and computers within their area of responsibility.
Serve as the Information Assurance Security Manager (IASM) in accordance with (IAW) Public Law, U.S. Government, DoD and U.S. Army regulation and policy to provide the required Network Defense-In-Depth for the PM/PL and its customers.
Implement standard operating procedures, software, controls promoting awareness of security issues among management, and ensures that sound security principles are part of the organization's vision and goals to ensure appropriate levels of security.
Work with other security officers, users, computer operators, and other support personnel to ensure security regulations are followed, and that installation, command, and agency security standards are met.
Requirements

- Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level I Foundational in the Acquisition Career Field Engineering and Technical Management within 36 months of entrance on duty.
- Must obtain certification under DoD Directive 8570.1-M, Information Assurance Management and Technical Level II (IAM II/IAT II) within 6 months of employment.

This IT Specialist position is located in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. This is a DoD Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) position in the NH-03 broadband with an advertised pay range from the lowest equivalent GS 12 grade Step 1 to the highest equivalent GS 13 grade step 10 in the broadband.
Acquisition Statement: Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Career Field Position. This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level I - Foundational in Acquisition Career Field N - Engineering & Technical Management within 36 months of entrance on duty.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position based on experience your resume must include at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11) grade level in the Federal service which includes:
1. Performing duties of an Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) AND;
2. Ensuring application and integrity of system cyber security requirements are met AND;
3. Applying knowledge of risk management framework
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02) or GS-11.
