Duties
You will utilize your knowledge of Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center (FNMOC) system software, application software and system utilities.
You will analyze and manage ongoing real-time computer systems processes.
You will operate and troubleshoot Hardware systems, Software systems including sophisticated numerical METOC prediction models.
You will apply analytical processes to the planning, design, and implementation of new and improved information systems to meet requirements.
You will work with senior programmers and technicians as required to solve technical problems and to restore operational systems.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 622 (Secure Software Assessor) level I within 12 months of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled.
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Analysis and management of real-time computer systems processes.
2. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Helping end users change the desktop display configurations on their workstations.
3. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Communicate the organization's strategic plan, mission, and values are communicated to the division.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency includes: Resolving common issues end users have when using an information technology system.
In addition to demonstrating the four competencies above, Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Working in the information technology career field, more specifically, applying knowledge of communications paths and links through mainframe systems and out to globally dispersed users sufficient to facilitate detection and correction of communication breakdowns.
Applying knowledge of Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center (FNMOC) system software, application software, and systems utilities sufficient to initiate and monitor processing of production workloads.
Applying knowledge of operations run schedules and associated procedures, remote terminal procedures, job priority categories, system control language and terms for console commands used to direct work around malfunctioning equipment and reconfigure the system to function with reduced resources.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
