About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at U.S. Army Cyber Command at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia.
This position is being filled on a permanent basis.
Duties
Serve as Information Systems Security Officer for Sensitive Compartmented Information, classified, unclassified and collateral programs.
Provide support to the Information Assurance Program, Communications Security, Continuity of Operations Plan, Development and Design Services, and Information Assurance Vulnerability Management Program.
Assist in execution of multidiscipline security program in areas of automation, information, physical, industrial, and operations security.
Advise commander and senior management regarding advanced Information Assurance techniques and developments by providing forecasts and recommendations for long range agency strategic plans and lifecycle management.
Implement and administer elements of the Network Security Improvement Program.
Develop and manage program that implements information systems security technology and procedures, to include Public Key Infrastructure and biometrics that address access control and authentication of users and transmitted information.
Evaluate information system security and computer network defense-in-depth requirements and procedures.
Compile Information Assurance Vulnerability Management status from subordinate activities and provides report to the Asset Tracking and Vulnerability Resource data base.
Perform Information Assurance assessments in support of the command Force Protection/Anti-Terrorism Program.
Administer programs which address IA operations and IA readiness. Evaluates information system security and computer network defense-in-depth requirements and procedures.
Develop procedures to generate and maintain required documentation to include the System Security Authorization Agreement and Systems Security Plans.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain TOP SECRET clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.
- Must undergo and successfully complete an initial and periodic Counter-Intelligence Polygraph (CI Poly) examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI).
- Must pass an initial and periodic urinalysis screening for illegal drug use.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain access to NSA and Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) accredited facilities and networks. [Military External Affairs Division (MEAD) Security In-Processing (SIP) process.]
- Temporary duty travel may be required approximately 25% of the time.
- Position is designated as Information Assurance Manager, IAM-III.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by implementing an Information Technology security program designed to protect organization systems, minimize vulnerabilities, ad ensure compliance with Information Assurance regulations/guidance/policies; performing assessments to evaluate network security (i.e. firewalls, proxy servicers, Network Demilitarize Zone, system and network event management, Anti-virus update procedures, network crisis action procedures, etc.) implementation/effectiveness; reviewing higher echelon regulations/guidance to develop organization level policies/procedures.
