Duties
As a Supervisory Project Specialist, you will:
- Responsible for directing the day to day activities of the assigned team, including distribution and balancing of workload, tracking work progress and status, estimating and reporting on work completion, instructing the team in specific tasks and job techniques, responding to and assisting with technical issues and problems, reporting on work performance and training needs and administering the gain and loss of employees.
- Responsible for managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of planning, scoping, development design, construction and operation of major multifamily insured and capital advance projects.
- Apply an extensive knowledge of construction disciplines, development and management concepts, principals, methods and practices, as well as knowledge of methods, practices and processes of engineering and science disciplines.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience is one (1) year of experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent, which is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully. Specialized experience is defined as follows:
-Coordinating and supporting a variety of Multifamily housing program functions (such as FHA mortgage insurance, Section 202 and 811 Capital Advance programs, Project-Based Section 8, preservation of affordable housing, rental subsidy administration, grant administration, risk management, and compliance); AND
-Consulting with and providing technical assistance to internal and external stakeholders (such as program officials, residents, lenders, citizen groups, and higher-level officials) on a variety of Multifamily housing program related technical matters; AND
-Leading or managing a team of employees and monitoring their progress towards achieving project goals and objectives.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
