This position is located in the Division of Administration (DOA), Human Resources Branch (HRB), Human Capital Operations (HCO) of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and provides support in the areas of staffing, pay setting, payroll and personnel action processing, records retention, and HR information systems.    Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify for the CG-11, To qualify applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 9 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience applying human resources principles, practices, laws and regulations to provide advisory services on personnel actions; and utilizing personnel automated systems to process payroll and personnel actions, and employee corrections. -OR- EDUCATION: To qualify based on education; applicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M., if related. OR COMBINING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the CG-11 level. To qualify for the CG-12, To qualify applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 11 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience researching and applying human resources principles, practices, laws and regulations to provide advisory services on personnel actions; utilizing personnel automated systems to process payroll and personnel actions, and employee corrections; and researching and developing solutions to payroll and processing issues. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
