This position is located in the Information Technology (IT) Program Management Office (ITP), Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA). The purpose of this position is to manage day to day operations and tasks assigned to the ITP Program Executive Officer (PEO) and provide direct support to the PEO.
Duties
Responsible for tracking and coordinating staff actions, IT software projects, IT programs and budget impacting the ITP.
Assist in establishing IT strategic planning to align the PEO vision and path forward with the overall IT Group and DeCA vision.
Evaluates presentations and integrates results into a finished senior executive level product.
Provides support, oversight and coordination of IT Portfolio Management staffing, documentation requirements and processes for systems owners of functional IT systems.
This position offers promotion potential to a higher grade. To prepare you for the higher grade, work assignments will be progressively more complex. After meeting all qualifications and requirements for the next grade level and with your supervisor's recommendation, you may be promoted without further competition. However, promotion is neither guaranteed nor automatic.

Qualifications
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 2210 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume (and/or transcript if necessary) must clearly show that you have the qualifications described below.
Experience: One (1) year specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level (or equivalent) by the closing date of this announcement. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military. Examples of qualifying experience include:
Applies performance management/ measure methods, tools, and techniques to evaluate system effectiveness.
Ensures the integration of IT programs and services.
Manage assigned projects and prepare briefings for senior management on complex/ controversial issues.
OR
Education: Master's Degree or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.
OR
Combination of experience and education. To calculate the combination, divide your total months of experience by 12, then divide your graduate level semester hours by the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study or 18 and add the two percentages. If the total is 100%, you meet the minimum qualifications through a combination of experience and education.
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Additional Requirements that must be met by the closing date:
Time-in-grade applies to the promotion of current and former federal employees who hold or have held a permanent GS position in either the competitive or excepted service in the previous 52 weeks, including current employees applying under VEOA. For GS-9: You must have 52 weeks of Federal service at or equivalent to GS-7.
Time after competitive appointment.
