You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) in the Corporate Operations Department of SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER.

Duties

You will serve as Lead Program Manager leading studies to identify and determine network administrative technical requirements, architecture, infrastructure and facilities requirements. You will be responsible for conducting cost-benefit analyses and total cost of ownership and bandwidth capacity studies. You will prepare study summaries for comparison of technical alternatives. You will develop work plans, program logic, routing scheme, contingency and recovery plans. You will provide direction and operational coordination for configuration management of local area networks (LANs) and wide-area networks (WANs). You will ensure compliance with plans, policies, standards, infrastructures and architectures of IT management and IT programs. You will develop IT plans, workload, workforce and budget requirements.

  • You must obtain and maintain qualifications in accordance with DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Management Program, February 15, 2023 and supporting DoN policies, for work role 752 proficiency level (A) within 9 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying administrative and managerial skills of Information Technology (IT) network systems in planning, developing, and implementing of policy and standards. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
