You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION N6 at NETC SITE WEST, San Diego, CA.

Duties

You will Verify the installation of information systems are in accordance with security standards and regulations. You will Brief senior leaders on security threats and vulnerabilities. You will Collaborate with systems security personnel (e.g., Navy Qualified Validator, Network Administrators, Compliance teams) to ensure information assurance (IA) requirements are met. You will Write information assurance (IA) procedures for mitigating security vulnerabilities. You will Interpret cybersecurity policies, guidelines, standards, and regulations to determine their impact on program policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Evaluate information systems and conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and provide cost effective methods to mitigate security vulnerabilities and risk. 2) Manage all tasks and submissions in support of Risk Management Framework (RMF) authorization requirements. 3) Ensure information systems are developed, procured, and installed in accordance with security standards and regulations. 4) Advise appropriate senior leadership or Authorizing Official of changes affecting the organization's cybersecurity posture. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
