DCSA's Logistics Management Office is seeking a Space Management Specialist to assist in gathering administrative space requirements in support of the agency Strategic Facility Plan as well the responsibility for all facility maintenance and operations within assigned regions. Duties

As a SPACE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Telework Eligibility: This position is telework eligible, but is not a full time telework position. The incumbent will be required to report to the office on a routine basis.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-11 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Developing and carry through to completion initial tenant alterations. Assisting in updating charts and records showing partition arrangement, location, and amount of space allotted to tenants. Maintaining strategic master space plan. Devising plans to adjust the needs of the operating agency to space availability to ensure maximum utilization of space and economy. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Interpersonal Skills: Considers and responds appropriately to the needs, feelings, and capabilities of others; adjusts approaches to suit different people and situations. 3. Manages and Organizes Information: Identifies a need; gathers, organizes, and maintains information; determines its importance and accuracy, and communicates it by a variety of methods. 4. Organizational Awareness: Knows how social, political, organizational, and technological systems work and operates effectively within them. This includes the policies, procedures, rules and regulations of the work unit or organization. 5. Planning and Evaluation: Determines objectives and strategies; coordinates with other parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors and evaluates the progress and outcomes of operational plans; anticipates potential threats or opportunities.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
