This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare (CM), Medicare Contractor Management Group (MCMG), Division of Performance Assessment (DPA) .
As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-15, you will serve as Division Director of DPA, with responsibility for managing the performance evaluation program for MACs.
Duties
Serves as the Director of the Division of Performance Assessment (DPA) with responsibility for managing the performance evaluation program for the MACs based on continuously changing program requirements.
The Director is the first-line supervisor to a multidisciplinary team of health insurance, procurement, and program evaluation professionals.
The Director, in collaboration with other CMS components and Medicare customers is responsible for managing the operation of the performance evaluation program for the Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs).
The Director works collaboratively with entities across the Agency to assess the effectiveness, quality, and integrity of MAC contractor operations and establishes ongoing performance expectations for MACs that are consist with CMS’ goals.
Exercises significant responsibilities in dealing with senior officials of other organizations internal and external to the Agency as well as contractors.

In order to qualify for the GS-15 position, you must clearly demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: (1) Leading projects or teams related to Medicare Contract Administration; and (2) Evaluating Medicare Administrative Contractor performance; and (3) Establishing ongoing performance expectations for Medicare Administrative Contractors.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
