ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: NGA is the world's leader in providing timely, accurate, and actionable geospatial-intelligence. We directly support U.S. national security through the delivery of geospatial content, services, and applications, helping policymakers, warfighters, intelligence professionals, and first responders make decisions quickly and with reliable data. The CIO-T Directorate is leading NGA's digital transformation through delivering and managing innovative and resilient IT solutions for the agency's GEOINT mission. Everything that we do is designed to support NGA's mission and vision.Software is core to doing this well, and we are hiring Product Managers as a key role in enabling NGA to deliver useful software, faster. As the primary interface between the stakeholders, users, and the development team, NGA Product Managers ensure that the right software applications and services are delivered. Product Managers work with users and customers to identify and understand their underlying needs. They work with internal and external stakeholders, including program managers, to generate a product vision and roadmap that coordinates and inspires cross-functional teams. Qualifications
MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Online resumes must demonstrate qualification by providing specific examples and associated results, in response to the announcement's mandatory criteria specified in this vacancy announcement: 1. Experience developing product vision and/or roadmaps to balance customer or business needs against strategic goals.2. Demonstrated experience leading processes to develop user stories, customer need statements, software features, and trackable metrics for customers and/or users. 3. Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring products function properly as part of a larger system. 4. Demonstrated product management experience with iterative software development efforts, across multiple products, with measurable user impact.EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Operations Research or a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience in project or product management, requirements definition, software development or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in project or product management, requirements definition, software development, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. -AND- Relevant Competencies: IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. Demonstrated familiarity with the government contract acquisition process such as the development of acquisition documentation or technical proposal evaluation to meet customer/user requirements.2. Demonstrated experience as a user/consumer of GEOINT data, products, or services, or similar experience.3. Product management experience with a geospatial capability or with one of the following: cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, software applications, or dissemination techniques. 4. Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following: enterprise geospatial data, imagery systems/service, working knowledge of geospatial information systems, cloud infrastructure, software product life cycle, modern geospatial data storage or dissemination techniques.
