The incumbent serves as a Social Worker for the Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences Service Line at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VAMC. The incumbent serves as the Coordinator for the Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) program in the Behavioral Health and Sciences Care Line at Salisbury VAMC.
Duties
Serves as the Coordinator for the Posttraumatic Stress Disorder RRTP (PTSD RRTP) in the Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences Care Line at Salisbury VAMC
Coordinates interdisciplinary staffing, work assignments, budget, treatment services and admission criteria for PTSD RRTP
Serves as leader for a multi- disciplinary team
Plans, schedules, and coordinates work and solves problems related to the work
Responsible for unit needs such as material, equipment, and facilities needed to complete work
Explains and gains the support of employees for developing, implementing and managing policies and establishing goals, in addition to working to achieve the objectives of government- wide personnel programs and policies
Advises management on the establishment of program goals, priorities, and major work schedules, develops short/long-rang staffing and equipment requirements
Responsible for providing an appropriate treatment environment for patients treated by RRTP who suffer from PTSD
The incumbent fosters and supports the use of novel rehabilitation techniques and sensitive, tactful, supervision of patients and personnel
Responsible compliance of all performance measures
Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
Citizenship: Be a citizen of the United States
Education: Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may notbe substituted for the master's degree in social work
Licensure: Must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level
English Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in spoken and written English to be appointed as authorized by 38 U.S.C. § 7403(f)
Grade Determination
GS-12: Must have at least one year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level, in which the experience demonstrates a possession of advanced practice skills and judgment, demonstrating progressively more professional competency
Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSA's:
(a) Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring.
(b) Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program.
(c) Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program.
(d) Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s).
(e) Ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance within clinical practice.
Preferred Experience: Experience working in a PTSD residential program and providing evidence-based practices for PTSD.
Licensure/Certification: Must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure.
The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-12.
