About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W4JLAA STRATEGIC SYSTEMS SUPPORT ELEMENT.

Duties

Serves as the Deputy Director, Chief Information Office/G6 of Enterprise IT for an Army Special Operations Command (USASOC). Plans, programs, budgets, and executes Brigade fiscal resources to support Mission Command Network Systems (MCNS) operational requirements in deployed and enterprise environments. Assists in the planning, coordination, and conflict resolution of the work schedules within the working groups. Coordinates with Service and Government Laboratories, civilian industry, and academia to ensure and maintain awareness of their focus on unique special operations technology needs. Routinely coordinates with flag level senior leaders through formal presentation regarding details of technical solutions, associated resourcing, and authorization of use. Provides executive guidance, management advice and oversight of developmental MCNS.

Requirements

  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Employee must have and be able to maintain TOP SECRET security clearance with Special Intelligence Access as a result of current and/or favorable Special Background Investigation.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GG/GS-13). In addition to the specialized experience listed above, your resume must show you have Information Technology-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral CommunicationPartneringPlanning and EvaluatingProject Management *NOTE: This position is designated KEY, meaning it cannot be vacated during war or national emergency without seriously impairing the mission. Incumbent of this position has unique, or scarce managerial or technical skills required by the wartime mission and cannot be held by someone in reserve status or with military recall obligations. Position is identified as a Key Position under the provisions of AR 690-11, cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization. Civilians must be exempted from recall to active duty because of Reserve or retired military obligations.
