The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Technical FMS Expert Financial Specialist (Audit) within an ACAT I Joint Program overseeing US Air Force, US Navy, and US Marine Corps or Foreign Military Sales financial audit programs.
Duties
Provides financial management and advisory oversight of financial activities to ensure propriety and compliance with financial, fiscal and auditing directives specific to the life cycle management of major weapon system(s)/subsystem(s) programs.
Performs root cause analysis to understand the causes/conditions of audit findings. Reviews Notifications of Findings and Recommendations (NFRs) to determine legitimacy.
Devises and implements corrective action plans to remediate audit findings.
Monitors the progression of corrective action plans and conducts validation testing to ensure the corrective action has remedied the NFR.
Responsible for managing internal and external funding requirements for various programs and program support at different phases of research and development, modification or sustainment.
Assists in the military equipment valuation (MEV) cost modeling for F-35 major end items.

- This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program.

- The incumbent of this position may be required to work overtime or an irregular work shift.
- The incumbent of this position may be required to travel by military or commercial air in the performance of TDY.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Knowledge of the policies, principles, concepts, guidance, procedures, techniques, and methodologies pertaining to analysis of financial data.
Knowledge of DoD acquisition requirements, development, and approval processes.
Knowledge of the requirements, techniques, procedures, and practices of generally accepted accounting principles and standards.
Skill in formulating, justifying, and/or analyzing financial requirements of the assigned program.
Ability to communicate, plan, organize work, and meet deadlines.
Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze data using financial systems to prepare budget estimates, develop alternatives, and make recommendations to resolve budget/funding problems.
