You will serve as a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST in the SUBSISTANCE PRIME VENDOR(SPV) BRANCH, LOGISTICS SUPPORT CENTER, FLEET OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of NAVSUP FLC PEARL HARBOR.

Duties

You will perform a variety of daily routine Subsistence Prime Vendor (SPV) duties, involving all aspects of acquiring Class I subsistence provisions, both Perishable, and Semi-Perishable items. You will coordinate levels of supply and demand with all Subsistence vendors, to ensure an accepted fill rate for customers. You will validate processes, research discrepancies, and follow-up on outstanding contracts and due-in receipts. You will interface between the Fleet, Subsistence Prime Vendor, Fresh Fruit and Produce (FFV) and Ready Market Vendors to resolve all Class I subsistence issues from time of order inception, until the delivery of the subsistence. You will perform duties that assist the Customer Service Officer: researching/conducting preliminary data collections for quality, and performance studies/surveys, resolve conventional problems, resolve conventional problems, conducting training,etc.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

For GS-09 level position: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level GS-07 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates utilizing a knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures, documentation and instructions governing unique and routine supply and procurement requests. Examples of specialized experience may include all of the following: 1) Applying knowledge of a wide range of well-established and commonly applied logistics management principles, concepts, and methodologies when such work requires the application of some judgment and analysis to provide services or resolve problems when receiving, reviewing, and monitoring incoming requisitions in order to verify availability of material. 2) Performing research for material discrepancies, requests for specialized or unique supplies, and determining replacement or substitute material. 3) Inputting data, compiling reports, and checking/correcting errors within automated supply databases. 4) Providing supply support assistance to customers on statuses of requisitions, stock checks, and any other supply issues. 5) Experiencing utilizing Subsistence Prime Vendor Program (SPV) and making food purchasing/ordering. For the GS-07 level position: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-05 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates utilizing a knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures, documentation and instructions governing unique and routine supply and procurement requests. Examples of specialized experience should include some or all of the following: 1) Receiving, reviewing, and monitoring incoming requisitions in order to verify availability of material. 2) Performing research for material discrepancies, requests for specialized or unique supplies, and determining replacement or substitute material. 3) Inputting data, compiling reports, and checking/correcting errors within automated supply databases. 4) Providing supply support assistance to customers on statuses of requisitions, stock checks, and any other supply issues. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:



For the GS-09 level position:
A. I have successfully completed a related master's or equivalent graduate degree.
OR
B. I have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher, related graduate level education leading to a master's degree.
OR

For the GS-07 level position:
A. I have successfully completed one full year of related graduate level education.
OR
