You will serve as a Supervisory General Supply Specialist in the Material Management Division, Logistics Readiness Department of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR PEARL HARBOR.

Duties

You will plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the Material Management Division that includes centralized storage, receiving, issuing, and warehousing of Individual Protective Equipment(IPE), material, supplies, and equipment. You will plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the Material Management Division that includes the operations of an Aircraft Parts Store. You will develop goals, objectives and priorities for the Division, integrating command and department level strategic objectives and initiatives. You will establish and maintain internal controls to ensure material, supplies and equipment are properly received, issued, and stored; overages and shortages are properly identified and reported; and weapons/other controlled items are accounted for. You will review and analyze changes in DOD and Air Force policies/instructions concerning the storage, receipt, issue, or management of inventories and develop/execute plans to implement these changes, keeping stakeholders/customers informed. You will plan work for accomplishment by subordinate units, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules based on consideration of difficulty of requirements and assignments, compared to the abilities of the staff. You will assign work, develop performance objectives and standards, evaluate performance, recommend awards or other forms of recognition, and recommend/approve training.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience performing General Supply Specialist Work equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying a broad knowledge of a wide range of supply management programs and their inter-relationships, systems, policies, practices, and techniques; sufficient to supervise, manage, or direct material ordering/acquisition, receiving, issuing, warehousing, inventory management, and military and/or commercial transportation of various classes of materials and supplies such as: Individual Protective Equipment, Aircraft Parts, and controlled/hazardous materials. I have experience identifying, analyzing, and translating complex information, to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of supply operations. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1) Participating in warehouse inspections and physical inventories, while ensuring the accountability of various hazardous materials, major end items, and repair parts/components; 2) Performing independent analyses in order to identify potential problem areas, concerning material management operations, and recommend plans for improvement; 3) Developing and implementing supply material management policies, procedures, goals and objectives for the Material Management division; 4) Identifying, analyzing, evaluating, and resolving supply challenges and discrepancies, associated with interrelated supply processes, having different regulatory requirements and procedures; and 5) Promoting and furthering the EEO Program, assuring equal treatment of subordinates in all areas of work, and personnel management.
