About the Position: This position is with the 81st Readiness Division, Family Program Regional Office, located at Fort Liberty, NC

Duties

Develop, manage and evaluate Family Readiness programs. Project budget requirements and prepare command operating budget input. Interpret and adapt guidance, regulations, policies and laws, tailoring it to the specific needs of diverse groups. Work with local, county, state and Federal social service organizations for assistance. Establish broad program objectives and goals. Review and analyze suggestions submitted to improve Army quality of life. Identify the need for, initiate, design, and set up education and training for Army Family members, unit representatives, and volunteers. Recommend and arrange training.

The basic requirement for this position is: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Minimum Qualifications In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, you must also meet the qualification requirements below: Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating a family support program (such as family readiness groups, family/volunteer recognition, participation, and community partnership); providing supervision, guidance, advice and technical assistance to employees, managers, organizations and/or families on programs to improve both duty and family life; arranging and/or providing briefings, orientations, or trainings; tracking and reporting information using a variety of automated systems; and overseeing and administering family programs budget and expenditures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service, GS-11. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementEducation and Training Program AdministrationOrganizational AwarenessPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
