About the Position: This position supports the mission of the Cost Accounting Branch, Cost Accounting Division, J8 Financial Operations Division and it is located at San Antonio, Texas.
Duties
Provide studies, analyses, reports, recommendations, and staff assistance for the Medical Expense and Performance Reporting System (MEPRS).
Serve as lead technical advisor and resource management analyst and functional expert in the DHA MEPRS Program Office.
Serve as a DHA staff action officer for conducting comprehensive analysis and studies to increase economy and efficiency of operations.
Evaluate and analyze current MEPRS operations activities and procedures and their effectiveness in meeting established goals and objectives.
Provide assistance and MEPRS technical guidance to Commanders, staff officers, managers, and MEPRS personnel at all echelons of the DHA.
Perform temporary travel for data quality and reporting compliance reviews/audits, conferences, workshops, training sessions, meetings, and/or staff assistance visits at designated MHS health care activities.
Evaluate current procedures and policies and identifies methods to achieve and enhance MEPRS operations.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience to qualify for the GS-12 grade level: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) assisting with the analysis of the Medical Expense and Performance Reporting System (MEPRS), 2) providing system improvement recommendations, AND 3) disseminating Medical Expense and Performance Reporting System (MEPRS) guidance to staff members. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
