You will serve as a You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT in the AC/S SECURITY & EMERGENCY SERVICES of
MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You will review all business pass/CAC (Common Access Card) applications for authentication and determine the type of pass that must be issues.
You will coordinate background checks utilizing NCIC (National Crime Information Center) and enforce strict compliance with privacy and confidentiality of the personal and private information obtained.
You will plan, organize and carry out assignments, coordinate work with others, determine the approach methodology to be used, and keep the supervisory apprised of potential problems.
You will obtain fingerprints from the applicants utilizing the Live Scan Machine.
You will assist applicants with filling out applications and verify proof of identification.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must possess a valid California State Driver's License.
- Must be capable of limited walking and climbing of stairs in order to access Information System equipment at various organizational sites.
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 45 pounds for limited distances.
- You may be required to be recalled to duty.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: reviewing all business pass/CAC applications for authentication and determines the type of pass that must be issued, coordinating background checks and developing, maintaining and enforcing procedures for the us and maintenance of all records.
