This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Force Readiness Command, Training Center Yorktown, Training Division, Performance Systems Branch, in Yorktown VA.
Duties
You will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing and reviewing resident training and distance learning material. You will analyze and evaluate training materials and delivery methods with regard to policy and mission training, and will provide advice regarding the most efficient means of resident training and distance learning development and delivery. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

Qualifications
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include: Coordinating meetings and the gathering of information for specific analyses and tests; establishing and maintaining working relationships with others in order to coordinate training program activities; recommending modifications for Training Division courses and rate-training materials; developing and adapting resident and distance learning materials/methods as needed; assisting senior specialists in evaluating courses.
OR
Master's or equivalent graduate degree in Education or a subject area related to the position
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, if related
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related.
A combination of specialized experience in or related to the work of this position AND graduate level education that provides the specific knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position may be combined to meet experience requirements. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify at that grade level. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
