Serves as the assistant to the Director of ALAO in the discharge of responsibilities as assigned by the DeCA Director and Deputy Director. Manages duties assigned by the executive leadership to the Director of ALAO, including those related to strategic executive
support, operations, plans, and strategic communications that integrate and synchronize leaderships' guidance,intent, directives, initiates, and decisions with the Executive Directorates and Functional Process Owners (FPO) within DeCA.
Duties
Supports executive leadership preparation for internal and external engagements.
Participates in meetings and office calls involving the executive leadership, when required.
Advises the Director of Administration and Legislative Affairs Office (ALAO) on Agency operations and plans and its implications across Executive Directorates and Functional Process Owners (FPOs).
Required to convey the intent of the Director of ALAO to the staff during the absence of the Director of ALAO, has a primary responsibility for mission continuity for ongoing advice and support to the executive leadership.

Qualifications
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 0301 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume (and/or transcript if necessary) must clearly show that you have the qualifications described below. You can use experience, education, or a combination of the two to qualify. Experience: To qualify for this position your resume and supporting documents must show that you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level or equivalent to at least GS-12 under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military.
Examples of qualifying specialized experience:
Ability to identify executive leadership support needs based on daily observance, interaction, analyze and measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of executive leader programs and initiatives, and develop written and oral recommendations for improvement.
Knowledge to conduct data analysis, visualization, and interpretation of data analytics to provide executive level information and risk analysis.
Extensive knowledge of administrative concepts, principles, and practices sufficient to foresee problems and perform independent studies designed to evaluate procedures/processes.
Additional Requirements that must be met by the closing date:
Physical requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical efforts may be required. No special physical demands, but work may require some walking and standing to attend meetings and/or conferences away from the worksite.
Time after competitive appointment. Current federal civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since being selected for a non temporary appointment from a competitive examination register of eligibles (an announcement opened to the public) or under a direct hire authority.
