You will serve as a Supervisory Computer Scientist in the Battlespace Division, Simulation Applications and Architecture Branch of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will oversee all technical project work within the Simulation Applications and Architecture.
You will provide inputs to the Battlespace Division budgeting process, and plan and coordinate the efforts of teams of engineering specialists.
You will work closely with individual product managers, provides technical inputs, attend reviews, stay abreast of status, address issues, and determine acceptability of simulations.
You will interview candidates for positions, recommend selections, and promote subordinates.
You will ensure subordinate team leaders / branch members have tools and information needed to carry out their duties.

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS 13-14) grade level or NM-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing knowledge of software and systems engineering concepts, practices and procedures; 2) Utilizing knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, financial management and coordination of people and resources; 3) Utilizing experience with productized software development, testing and deployment; and 4) Leading software teams.

1550 Series:Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
