You will serve as a Lead Scientist in the Airborne Anti-Submarine Warfare Systems Engineering Division of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will technically advise a professional force of scientists, engineers, technicians, and analysts ranging in grade from junior level to senior level.
You will exercise technical and administrative control of the production sonobuoy products.
You will develop developmental and production requirements for current and proposed programs and manage financial resources within the assigned budget.
You will serve as an expert technical authority in the areas of Airborne Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), Air-deployed ASW Systems, ASW Software Development, and ASW Technologies.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12/13 grade level or DP-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing experience with Airborne Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) systems to provide management and technical direction to workforce, processes, products, and facilities; 2) Monitoring and reporting the status and progress of work, checking on work progress, and reviewing completed work to ensure guidelines have been met; 3) Establishing long-range ASW objectives and defining resource requirements, schedules, and support needed for the execution of programs; and 4) Making recommendations to project teams of advanced technology techniques, applications, and system developments to address current and evolving problems.

Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
