You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) in the Quality Assurance Department of SUPSHIP GULF COAST. You will serve in the Electrical Installation and allied process branch for the Surveillance QA division in the QA department.

Duties

You will monitor contractor compliance to the Navy and commercial electrical cableway installations and allied processes specifications and standards. You will perform procedure reviews, conduct independent surveys and electrical focused audits, provide in -process inspections and evaluations and perform other duties as directed. You will assist in maintaining the SUPSHIPGC training program by training surveillance branch personnel in electrical focused audit methods, new process methods and NBPI training when requested. You will perform electrical focused surveys of SUPSHIP cognizant shipbuilding contracts. You will assist in developing, conducting and reviewing internal training programs within the technical, industrial, professional specialties and areas of expertise. You function as Quality Assurance Representative for SUPSHIP at remote Contractor's facilities.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade level GS-11 or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting quality assurance (QA) inspections, assessments, or audits of contractor performance, electrical systems, or processes to ensure compliance with established QA requirements and standards in support of shipbuilding operations.
