Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY Supervisory Equal Employment Specialist, you will use your knowledge of and experience with the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity, Diversity and Inclusion to optimize business results and customer experience by: Develop proactive equal employment opportunity (EEO) strategies for the current and future workforce that will affect the entire Agency. Provide strategic consulting services and advice to top HHS leadership on EEO and Diversity and Inclusion programs, functions, and initiatives. Assess current and future needs required to meet EEO organizational goals and objectives and ensure that the Agency has a model EEO Program. Develop strategies and programs to institutionalize a focus of valuing diversity in the workforce. Develop and coordinates agency programs to increase the participation of Minority Serving Institutions and Organizations in federally sponsored programs. Coordinate with and provides advice to Agency and Department heads and regional personnel on all matters pertaining to EEO and nondiscrimination

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: 1. Interpreting federal equal employment opportunity principles, concepts, laws, regulations and policies or relevant precedent decisions to effectively process formal complaints of discrimination. 2. Planning, developing, managing, or evaluating EEO programs, including complaints intake, processing, counseling, investigative processes, evidentiary documentation, and reasonable accommodations within established statutory timeframes. 3. Leading and coordinating MD-715 development and submission for a Federal department. 4. Supervising, directing, and assessing work for subordinate staff. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
