About the Position: Serves as a first line supervisor in the General Supply Division responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing work for warehouse and supply operations.
Duties
Explain all work requirements, methods, procedures, specific hazards and safety precaution to all personnel.
Ensure all personnel, materials and equipment required for operations are at designated work site.
Plan and assign work based on priorities, requirements of assignments and capabilities of employees.
Evaluate performance of subordinate personnel.
Plan and review work in progress and upon completion.
Plan distribution, set deadlines and duties of work on a day-to-day or project-to-project basis for subordinates.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by human resources within 30 calendar days after the Entrance on Duty (i.e., start date).
- Selectee’s inability to successfully pass or refusal to conduct the drug test may result in the job offer being withdrawn during the recruitment process or subsequently being removed from Federal service for failure to meet a condition of employment
- You may be required to sign a Statement of Understanding if you are selected for this position.
- Position requires the completion of a pre-employment physical examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health/ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- Position requires moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds).
- Performance of duties require the position to complete the introductory course in hazardous waste management within six months of being assigned to this position and attend annual refresher course.
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
- Performance of duties requires incumbent to possess and continue to maintain a valid, State-issued license.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid forklift operator license.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Materials Handler Supervisor without more than normal supervision. Must possess the ability to give directions to a number of employees in accomplishing trades and labor work associated with the implementation of the automated systems used in warehouse and supply operations, and administration; pass on instructions received from supervisor; and demonstrate work procedures, check work for compliance and provide status reports. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
