The New Mexico VA Healthcare Network is recruiting for an Administrative Technician assigned to the Ambulatory Care Service. The incumbent will provide secretarial, receptionist, clerical support. The incumbent has primary responsibility of carrying out strategic plan and direction by creating, developing, and managing process and systems to ensure quality care and compliance to policy and process in the medical center.
Duties
Facilitate the onboarding process for Fee Basis and GAP Providers, initiate request for access/termination for critical access.
Manage fee basis and GAP Providers schedules to include gathering providers availability, determining and coordinating clinic coverage needs in a timely manner avoiding cancellation of clinic less than 45 days out.
Assisting GAP Providers with necessary travel arrangements and notifying organizations and officials to be visited.
Provides information and assistance to other staff as necessary, including CONCUR (or equivalent authorized travel system) references and facility Travel POCs, etc. travel authorizations and reimbursement vouchers when they are required to travel.
Communicate and liaison with clinic managers, the fee basis providers, and GAP Providers, the schedule to allow rescheduling of patients into the appropriate grid.
Monitor, track, and ensure compliance of required FPPE and OPPE by each provider to ensure FPPE/OPPE is completed by each as assigned quarterly (in order to ensure that all providers meet Medical Staff Office Requirements such as By Laws, and VHA Directives.
Assists Contracting Officer Representative (COR) with locum tenens by tracking, validating and processing timekeeping and ensure payment.
Review CPRS and/or coordinate closing open encounters with the service physicians.
Scan all items on the assigned electronic inventory system (EIL).
Preparing equipment, turn in forms and retagging items.
Coordinate and follow up with different department managers such as biomed, engineering, EMS and safety to locate items not found that are listed on the inventory.
Incumbent will serve as an ADPAC creating the tools to generate, monitor and analyze reports for use by the physicians/clinic according to the unique needs of the providers.
Responsible for the overall coordination of all computer information needs of physicians.
Provides education and training in the introduction and use of the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) for all new providers.
Provides continual training and access and coordinates computer needs for the providers.
Primary timekeeper for fee basis and GAP providers as well as all Ambulatory Care Service providers.
Assigns and monitors completion of TMS required trainings.
Provide PIV sponsorship for fee basis and GAP Providers by authorizing the request for Applicant for PIV, Non-PIV, or Flash Badge.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes, but are not limited to: utilizing a variety of computer software to enter and maintain data; processing travel arrangements; organizing and maintaining records and files; generating reports; and providing daily clerical support.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Education
There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level.
