About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SAR WF) for the SHARP Program Office in Fort Gregg Adams, VA.

Duties

As a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SAR WF), you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list: Works with the Installation Senior Command Lead SARC and command staff to manage the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) program. The incumbent will work with soldiers, family members, DoD civilians. Coordinate care to ensure that sexual harassment complainants and sexual assault victims receive appropriate and responsive care. Ensure that sexual assault victim advocacy services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, both off and on post for all of the serviced population Maintain liaison with the Provost Marshall/CID, medical and legal services, and commanders to facilitate immediate response and accurate reporting of sexual assault incidents. Assign a victim advocate to assist the victim immediately upon report of the incident. Emphasize the commitment to maintain a workplace environment that rejects sexual harassment and sexual assault and attitudes that promote such behavior. Ensure all unrestricted reports of sexual assault are reported to the CID immediately upon victim consent and receipt. Report sexual harassment and sexual assault data using various automated reporting tools utilized by the DoD. Provide information, training, and reference materials to the serviced population to facilitate a sexual assault free environment.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY), approximately 25% of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance throughout the duration of employment.
  • State Criminal History Repository check is required for all states of residence in the previous five years.
  • Within six months of employment must successfully complete required Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) training, and obtain and maintain D-SAACP certification.
  • Must maintain an active D-SAACP certification and up-to-date commander appointment orders prior to having any victim contact or access to victim information.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle should the need arise to operate a government vehicle/motor pool vehicle.
  • May be required to carry a cell phone and be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week on a rotational basis, based on the needs of the organization.

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Services. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
