About the Position: As a Plans and Operations Specialist in the Operations Division of the DPTMS has responsibility for the planning and execution of Fort Gregg-Adams operations, exercises, ceremonies and special events. Also performs watch (staff duty) functions in the Fort Gregg-Adams Operations Center.
Duties
Responsible for the proper staff notification and coordination of official military visits.
Maintain liaison with military and civilian agencies regarding inclement and/or severe weather conditions.
Review operation and serious incident reports to higher headquarters. Maintains communications with higher, lower and adjacent headquarters.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Mission essential, in the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This job will require shift work with normal 8-hour shifts but may require working extended 12-hour shifts, 7 days a week with 25% overtime during times of disaster and/or crisis.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with conducting studies concerning the efficiency/effectiveness of a program operations in areas such as assisting with the development of administrative policies, procedures/directives, evaluating changes in methods of operations. Utilizing automation software programs such as microsoft office to create reports/correspondence for an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level
graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management and Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be
used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at
least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of
experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the
two percentages.
