You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) in the INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY DIRECTORATE of NAVY SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY.
This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
Duties
You will serve as the IT Specialist providing information systems management services and network management support for the Command’s Enterprise network.
You will serve as a member of the network management team administering network infrastructure operations and readiness.
You will serve as the subject matter expert developing or designing network infrastructure application and devices.
You will provide oversight and management of Location Area Networks (LAN) to ensure the integration of the command’s Wide Area Networks (WANs).
You will plan and identify project scope and resources to make recommendations regarding project budget and spending plan.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Network Ops Specialist level II within 12 months of appointment.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing network infrastructure equipment installation or relocation for the testing and acceptance processes; 2) Providing technical direction and leadership to less experience team members; and 3) Applying knowledge of network systems management, security methods to include end-to-end performance monitoring, network architecture, topology design, and transmissions protocols.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
