About the Position: Serves as the S-1 Personnel Division Chief of a Recruiting Brigade for U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC). Responsible for formulation, maintenance, and overall supervision of BDE military and civilian human resources (HR) matters and enhancement of personnel readiness.
Duties
Establishes operating guidelines to implement procedures, methods, and other work related changes that improve operating effectiveness and/or correct problems.
Reviews submitted personnel actions to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
Approves leave and resolves routine disciplinary problems or complaints referring more complex issues to higher-level management for approval.
Provides full range of advice and guidance on military HR management issues in addition to accomplishing, monitoring, and directing the BDE’s military HR functions.
Coordinates issues and actions related to replacements, personnel actions, reliefs, awards, and evaluations with HQ USAREC G-1.
Prepares special requests and other documentation for the Commanding General.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the federal service which involves directing efforts of administrative personnel responsible for providing advice, guidance, and operational support in areas of military Human Resources; serving as technical advisor on military Human Resources management and functions; guiding subordinate employees in the organizations recruiting efforts.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
