About the Position: Serves as a Program Manager for the Army Emergency Medical Services Program (EMSP). Maintains the program's strategic focus during transitions and provides subject matter expertise in the tenets of prehospital Care Program management. Plans, develops, and conducts scientific and technology management, provides technical oversight and evaluation of emerging emphasis areas to individual installation EMS programs.
Duties
Provide program management and oversight of Army EMS programs and a budget.
Adherence to Army EMS program protocols/patient care delivery techniques, and budget).
Provide installation EMS programs mitigation measures for identified risks.
Analyze data-based mission services provided by installation EMS programs.
Ensure that installation EMS program actions are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Subject matter expertise in the tenets of prehospital Care Program management.
Provide technical oversight and evaluation of individual installation EMS programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18 and a favorable determination of suitability to do so.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- This position may occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours to include weekends and holidays.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 30 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
