This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Assistant Commandant for C5ISC, Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber and Intelligence Service Center (CSISC), Asset Logistics Division (ALD), Logistics Supply Support Branch (LSSB), Enterprise Software and Hardware Acquisition Section (SHA), located in Alexandria, VA.   

Duties

You will serve as an Information Technology Cybersecurity Specialist (CUSTSPT/INFOSEC) and be responsible for developing methods to monitor and measure risk, compliance, and assurance efforts, providing ongoing optimization and problem-solving support, and acting as a primary stakeholder in the underlying information technology (IT) operational processes and functions that support the service, provide direction and monitor all significant activities so the service is delivered successfully.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience must include the following: Lead and contribute to the procurement of software, associated maintenance renewals, software assurance and/or extended support based upon guidance, direction, and prioritization. Provide procurement subject matter expertise/assistance to support customers in the execution of procurements that fall outside of the sections scope and interfacing with other procurement agents to harmonize processes and develop collaborative approaches to procurement execution. Participate as a member of the Software Asset Management (SAM) Program, contributing knowledge and expertise to assist in the design, development, and implementation of management rules, processes, policies, and procedures governing enterprise Software Asset Management. Communicate with senior level management and other stakeholders on program activities and facilitating responses. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.  In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirement, you must also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Education cannot be substituted at this grade level. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
