You will serve as an ELECTRICIAN HELPER in the REPAIR DEPARTMENT of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.

Duties

You will assist journeyman Electricians by performing the less skilled duties of the trade. You will engage in joint operation with journeyman as instructed. You will perform simple elements of electrical trades in rough or preliminary work and occasionally work on more complex operations with specific instructions under close supervision. You will assist work consisting of installation, repair, alterations, manufacture, fabrication, and maintenance of various electrical systems, circuits, equipment and components aboard Naval ships, subs, and facilities aboard ships and in shops. You will perform duties like pulling and strapping cable, packing tubes, skinning and cutting in and hook-up of cable, mounting fixtures and cable pans, housekeeping, cleaning components, procuring tools, and installing floaters. You will receive specific instructions from a journeyman Electrician. You will perform simpler and repetitive tasks and operations from detailed oral and written instructions without supervision.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
