You will serve as a ELECTRICIAN in the Waterfront Services Division of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.

Duties

You will provide temporary electrical, fluid and ventilation systems services to Trident submarines and other US Navy ships moored or docked at TRF Bangor, to shore-side facilities, to other TRF shops and to other locations as assigned. You will connect temporary service equipment such as: Hydro blasters, welding equipment, media blast equipment, painting equipment, high-pressure air compressors (HPACs), and temporary structures. You will design, construct, maintain, install, groom, uninstall, inspect, troubleshoot, repair and stow any equipment, service or system in the Temporary Service Shop area of responsibility, as assigned. You will stand watch over and operate equipment to flood and dewater the drydock and to deballast and ballast the caisson. You will accurately and correctly make all required equipment operating log entries including run times, electrical current flow, pressures, flowrates, etc. You will operate systems such as: caisson ballasting and deballasting, artesian pressure relief, seismic monitoring, floor drainage, saltwater leakage, storm drainage, drydock flooding, drydock superflooding, drydock dewatering. You will design, manufacture, assemble, inspect, service, clean, test, maintain, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble electrical equipment such as: cable lugs, plugs, splices, amphenols and receptacles, and transformers. You will design, manufacture, assemble, inspect, service, clean, test, maintain, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble electrical equipment such as: load centers, switch cans, rectifiers, switchboards, and circuit breakers. You will design, manufacture, assemble, inspect, service, clean, test, maintain, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble electrical equipment such as: lighting systems, tank heaters, ventilation blowers, and fire alarm systems. You will design, manufacture, assemble, inspect, service, clean, test, maintain, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble electrical equipment such as: automatic transfer switches, and telephone cables. Design, manufacture, layout, cut, bend, assemble, inspect, service, clean, test, maintain, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble piping, hose and ventilation equipment such as: ASW cooling hoses and flanges, SOD hoses and flanges. Design, manufacture, layout, cut, bend, assemble, inspect, service, clean, test, maintain, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble piping, hose and ventilation equipment such as: CHT hoses and flanges, and firefighting water systems Design, manufacture, layout, cut, bend, assemble, inspect, service, clean, test, maintain, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble piping, hose and ventilation equipment such as: breathing air systems, industrial tool air systems. Design, manufacture, layout, cut, bend, assemble, inspect, service, clean, test, maintain, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble piping, hose and ventilation equipment such as: ventilation systems, pressure regulators, and flowmeters. Design, manufacture, layout, cut, bend, assemble, inspect, service, clean, test, maintain, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble piping, hose and ventilation equipment such as: valve assemblies, and check valves. Design, manufacture, layout, cut, bend, assemble, inspect, service, clean, test, maintain, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble piping, hose and ventilation equipment such as: freeze protection bleeder valves, and submersible pumps. Design, manufacture, layout, cut, bend, assemble, inspect, service, clean, test, maintain, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble piping, hose and ventilation equipment such as: diesel seawater (DSW) hoses and fittings. Design, manufacture, layout, cut, bend, assemble, inspect, service, clean, test, maintain, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble piping, hose and ventilation equipment such as: sonar dome fill filters, hoses and fittings.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain qualification as Waterfront Services Craftsman.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a Command Board Certification as Drydock Pumproom and Caisson Operator.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
