You will serve as a ELECTRICIAN in the Public Works Department at Marine Barracks Washington, DC of MARCORPSBARRACKS. This is a RE-ADVERTISEMENT of Announcement Number: ST-12241080-24-ARD. Applicants that have previously applied NEED to re-apply to this announcement.

Duties

You will arrange and place distribution panels, boxes, circuits, fittings, conections adns controls. You will trace hard to locate defects and problems. You will complete reparis and installations with little or no advice. You will run power circuits, provide electrical connections for machinery and install motors and similtar equipment sn shop and machine areas. You will disassemble electrical equipment, clean and replace parts, renew wiwring, electrical connections and insulation parts as neccessary. You will install control or safety devices, transformers, shunts and recording instruments on panels.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This position requires exposure to high noise levels, bad weather, dirty, dusty and/or greasy work conditions.
  • This position requires standing, stooping, bending kneeling, climbing and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
  • This position requires frequent lifting, carrying, and setting up tools, equipment and parts that weight up to 45 pounds, and occasionally may lift and carry items that weigh over 45 pounds.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision troubleshooting, fabricating, disassembling/reassembling, installing, modifying, testing, repairing, reading/interpreting blueprints and laying out the work and maintaining regulators, cables, switches, circuit breakers and other electrical or mechanical devices, equipment and component parts. Applicants must meet the requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Job Qualification System for Trades and Labor Occupations (X-118C).
