You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Surface Maintenance Engineering Planning Program (SURFMEPP) of SURFACE MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING PLANNING PROGRAM (SURFMEPP).
Duties
You will conduct weekly inspections to insure that proper physical security safeguards are maintained and SURFMEPP personnel are fully aware of such requirements.
You will provide technical advice and assistance on secure rooms, security containers, types of locks and other security devices authorized for a particular area or use.
You will establish and maintain an effective visitor control program and access controls to insure that only authorized personnel are admitted.
You will initiate foreign travel briefs for SURFMEPP personnel on official and unofficial travel; reviewing the Foreign Clearance Guide.
You will participate n the development and implementation of policies and procedures for evaluating character, background, and history of employees and other persons with access to classified or sensitive information, materials or work sites.
You will submit and receive security clearance information from other government agencies and contracting facilities.
You will conduct frequent inspections of SURFMEPP activity areas to insure proper handling and storage of classified materials and CUI.
You will ensure the review of information on a continual basis for proper markings and dissemination in compliance with regulations.
You will arrange and/or conduct security training sessions for organization personnel, brief newly assigned personnel on security requirements and debrief personnel upon departure.
You will assist project personnel in the security aspects of procurement actions and insure that contractors comply with security requirements.
You will research security issues and vulnerabilities and compile incident and metric reporting to brief the Activity Security Manager on program issues and trends.
You will prepare security awareness bulletins and analyze other defense security sources for threat information and based on emerging information; initiate and updates operating procedures and policies to reflect new requirements as appropriate.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-01 (GS-04 Equivalent), in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates the ability to: analyze problems to identify significant factors; gather pertinent data and recognize solutions; plan and organize work; and communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to three years of experience.
