You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Security Department of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.
Duties
You will provide daily security support in a wide range of security functional areas that include information security, physical security, personnel security, communications security, foreign disclosure and general security administration.
You will assure compliance with established security policies and procedures and coordinate command security requirements as required.
You will analyze and research security issues, identify solutions, and communicate those solutions effectively, both orally and in writing, to the Command Security Manager, and/or department chain-of-command, as appropriate.
You will establish priorities and coordinate work across projects, programs or people, and effectively balance work demands.
You will develop and maintain Security Standard Operating Procedures.
You will develop and provide workforce training to ensure employees are aware of their security responsibilities and are informed of any changes in policy.
You will perform self-inspections of secure facilities and ensure findings are addressed and closed out or mitigated to an acceptable level of risk.
You will report to the Command Security Manager Security incidents and electronic spillages; conduct preliminary investigation, coordinate with Original Classification Authority, collect data, and provide findings.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
DA-04:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS 9-10) grade level or DA-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing knowledge of security policies and procedures for the proper protection, handling, and marking of controlled unclassified information (CUI) and classified information; 2) Performing inspections, reporting findings, and mitigating risks; 3) Communicating with leadership, researching projects, identifying viable solutions, and establishing priorities; 4) Reporting security incidents, providing immediate guidance, and recommending corrective action; 5) Providing security related training briefs to workforce under area of cognizance; and 6) Planning, organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling own work activities to perform duties in a timely and effective manner.
DA-03:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS 5-8) grade level or DA-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing knowledge of security policies and procedures for the proper protection, handling, and marking of controlled unclassified information (CUI) and classified information; 2) Performing inspections, reporting findings, and mitigating risks; 3) Reporting security incidents, providing immediate guidance, and recommending corrective action; and 4) Organizing and prioritizing own tasks to perform duties in a timely and effective manner.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
DA-04 Level:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
Possession of an LL.M., if related
DA-03 Level:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D., if related
