About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SAR WF) for the SHARP Program Office in Fort Liberty, NC.

Duties

Administer the operations of a Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) program. Coordinate response activities in the event of a sexual harassment complaint or sexual assault. Facilitate immediate response and accurate reports of sexual assault incidents. Assess potential impact of state laws governing reporting requirements for adult sexual assault victims that may affect compliance w/ Restricted Reporting option(s) and develop and/or revise applicable memorandums of understanding (MOUs) accordingly. Ensures victims of sexual assault receive guidance and emotional support. Verify and confirm sexual assault victims are properly advised of their options regarding restricted and unrestricted reporting. Responsible for ensuring all cases of sexual harassment and assault are input and maintained in the appropriate system of record to ensure coordinated care. Track services provided to victims of sexual assault and harassment from initial report through disposition and resolution of the victim’s health and well-being. Provides training to personnel regarding the prevention of sexual harassment and assault. Develop and promote SHARP/SARC program publicity materials in accordance with approved SHARP campaign messaging. A drug test is required.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Occasional Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) away from home station.
  • Recruitment/Relocation/Retention Incentive may be authorized.
  • Background checks against all records required by law, Office of Personnel Management, DoD, and Army policy or regulation will be conducted prior to entering on duty in the position.
  • In accordance with governing regulations, additional checks will be performed on a recurring basis while employed in the position.
  • Minimum of a favorable suitability determination on a Tier 3 background investigation.
  • Incumbents in these positions are required to self-report civilian arrests, the filing of criminal charges, and/or convictions of any criminal offense to their supervisors and security office.
  • Must attend and graduate from required SHARP training courses within six months of employment.
  • While waiting for training or completion of certification, the employee may be reassigned or detailed to a position that meets the employee's qualifications and skills.
  • The detail or reassignment will be without promotion or demotion and will be until the DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certificate is provided.
  • Must maintain an active D-SAACP certification and up-to-date commander appointment orders prior to having any victim contact or access to victim information.
  • In the event that D-SAACP certification expires, is suspended, or is revoked, the individual is not authorized to serve in any SHARP position or perform SHARP duties until D-SAACP certification is reinstated.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle should the need arise to operate a government vehicle/motor pool vehicle.
  • May be subject to occasional 24/7 on-call SARC responsibilities.

Provide training to personnel regarding reporting procedures and resources available to prevent sexual harassment and assault; and 3). Confirm signatures and receipt of all required documentation is maintained to ensure regulatory compliance regarding confidentiality and record of accountability associated with each case. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Services. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
