About the Position: This position is located within the Directorate for Professional Education and serves as a Special Assistant to the Market Director in managing the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Duties

Serves as the Command's central point of contact and subject matter expert (SME) for all activities associated with clinical research protocols and human subject(s) protection. Serves as the Command's central point of contact for external agencies establishing medical research programs. Complies with all federal research regulations and ethical guidelines. Maintains database of all ongoing and potential research projects. Conducts and coordinates educational training of institutional professional staff and students. Serves a Contracting Officer Representative.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires a Tier 3 (Secret) security investigation.
  • This position requires 5% TDY.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.

Such functions include management advisory services, budget, human resources, agreements, and program status reporting. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: AuditingLeadershipResearch Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
