Duties

You will plan work and supervise military members, civilians, and contractors and provide technical communication service and information technology policy guidance to personnel. You will plan for and implement policies and procedures for accomplishing information technology planning. You will balance workload, determine priorities, prepare schedules, assign, review, and accept or reject work. You will review work in progress, completed work, and accomplishments for effectiveness of operations, thoroughness of treatment, and soundness of projects and plans, timeliness, and policy compliance. You will develop or supervise the development of management guidance and implementation procedures for all aspects of information technology service management to include program and budget preparation. You will develop written and/or oral instructions, standard operating procedures, and policies. You will identify training needs for employees and provide or make provisions for training.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • Must have or be able to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position is considered Mission-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing and developing enterprise information technology plans and policies; directing, coordinating, and overseeing C4 training; AND planning, directing, managing, and supervising the efforts of its divisions and subordinate Command.
