You will serve as the Operations Branch Head in the Operations and Training Department (G-3/5), Operations and Plans Division, Operations Branch (Code G3OC) of Marine Corps Installations East and Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune (MCIEAST-MCB CAMLEJ), North Carolina.

Duties

You will plan, coordinate, and supervise the execution of a wide variety of near term regional and installation operations for MCIEAST-MCB CAMLEJ, to include Command Post and Emergency Operations Center (CP/EOC) operations and management. You will provide senior level operational and management experience in support of the Commanding General (CG), MCIEAST-MCB CAMLEJ responsibilities to command and control (C2) both a major training base and installations across region. You will conduct inter and intra staff coordination in support of current operations to ensure the productive participation of all MCIEAST staff and components as well as all major tenant commands. You will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and conduct of a wide variety of special events hosted by MCIEAST-MCB CAMLEJ or its tenant commands. You will lead cross functional staff planning efforts, using the Marine Corps Planning Process model, for complex events and command policy development. You will provide planning and coordination assistance to foreign and other U.S. service (active component) units seeking unilateral training aboard Camp Lejeune. You will plan, coordinate, administer, and manage both Regional (MCIEAST) and local (MCB CAMLEJ) operations. You will lead actions of the Command's Crisis Management Team (CMT) including the preparation and delivery of orientation briefs, the conduct of mission analysis, staff estimates, and course of action development. You will ensure the combined Command Post/Emergency Operations Center (CP/EOC) is held in a constant state of readiness for no-notice activation for a wide variety of emergent threats or significant events.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying a wide range of program management principles to plan and execute an organization's operations.
